The first book in the My Character Series is PRIDE: The Silent Killer of the Church.
The purpose of PRIDE: The Silent Killer of the Church is to highlight God’s viewpoint on pride, His actions toward it, and the consequences to individuals who exhibit it. As children of God we need to concern ourselves with what is important to the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Some of the questions the book seeks to answer are: what is pride? what does the Bible say about pride, and how to develop humility?
It considers how pride impacts the Church and its mission. It also looks at examples of biblical characters who were proud and what happened to them. Then in contrast, takes into account some biblical characters that were humble and their impact upon their generation. The times we are now living in are unlike any other in history, and there is a need to guard against the pride the world system is promoting and encouraging.
“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6/1Peter 5:5 NKJV)
